WHAT IS MERCURY STUDIO?
Mercury Studio is a coworking space that provides a beautiful, design-conscious, focused workplace for our members, including all of the conveniences of an office and then some: quiet workspace, coffee, tea, kitchenette, wireless Internet, printer, all available 24/7. We are here to encouraging community — a network of professionals open to social and professional collaboration.
WHO IS THE TEAM BEHIND MERCURY STUDIO?
Mercury Studio is owned and operated by Katie DeConto and Megan Jones. Our community is supported by a staff of Study Hall members, who greet everyone at the front desk and keep the space under control. The culture of our community is shaped with the help of our Board of Awesome committees, who facilitate things from content for our blog to member-only parties.
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
Our building is tucked behind Motorco at 401 W. Geer Street. The main entrance is the orange door on the south side of the building, facing the parking lot. We love our neighbors: Motorco/Parts&Labor,Geer Street Garden, Patanjali's Place, Crossfit Durham, Cocoa Cinnamon, The Pit, and Fullsteam.
WHAT ABOUT PARKING?
We share a parking lot with Motorco. All of our members receive parking passes to park in the lot 24/7, without having to pay the evening parking fee.
CAN I USE OR RENT MEETING SPACE WITH MY MEMBERSHIP?
Yes! Cafe, Desk, Private Office, and Studio Members receive 10hrs/mo Back Room use with their membership for meetings with 15 people or less ($30 for nonmembers). Hosting a meeting or event for 16-50 people? Members only pay $50/hr ($70 for nonmembers)
WHAT ARE MERCURY STUDIO’S HOURS?
Members get 24/7 access to the space! Our door is open to the public M-F, 9-5.
CAN I BRING INTERNS?
Yes! Add a team member (or partner/spouse) to your membership for $50! Work with a team or intern but only need to meet with them occasionally? Use your Back Room hours to schedule meetings for your team.
CAN I TALK ON THE PHONE?
Yes! Although coworking is an open-space environment, the focused energy of Mercury Studio is full of the buzz of our members doing the work. Our work culture encourages conversation and phone calls out in the open coworking space. But because some calls last longer or warrant additional privacy, members can take calls in either the Back Room or our phone booth (coming soon!). We also have a pleasant courtyard outdoor space to take calls when the weather is nice!
WHAT TYPE OF WORK ARE CURRENT MERCURY STUDIO MEMBERS DOING?
While our members tend to work in creative fields, the work they do is very diverse. We have film makers and web developers, copywriters and UX/UI designers, freelancers, solopreneurs, small businesses, and telecommuters.
