All the fun, all the time!
Here's a peak back at what all went down in the Back Room last month. Be sure to check out our event calendar for what's coming up in May!
Hosted and coordinated by our own Bethany Yankie-Bush, Writers' Salon is a monthly group for writers to come together to workshop their work and support each other. They meet the first Monday of every month at 7pm! Read more about how Writers' Salon started here!
We hosted TWO listening room musicians in April! Sumner James on April 9th and Kamara Thomas on April 29th. Crazy or THE BEST IDEA EVER?! I'll let you decide. Check out the recap from Sumner James here! This month we're bring in Jack The Radio on May 27th. And seriously, space is limited so get that ticket now!
The Makery's featured vendor(s) and a Pop Up gallery in the Back Room make Third Friday at Mercury Studio a fabulous place to visit on your Durham art crawl. In April The Makery featured kid-friendly artisans: Bull Pin Apparel, Darling and Dear, Durham City Goods, Emergolde, and Rivtak. The Pop Up Gallery featured watercolor portraits by Debra Wuliger. AND! If that wasn't enough fun, The Kupkake Fairy set up outside to share local, handmade sweet treats!
Moogfest is taking over our parking lot during May's Third Friday. BUT have no fear, you can join us for a special festival pop-up on Saturday May 21st! Get the details here! No festival passes needed to attend!
We'll be back for June's Third Friday with, rumor has it, something sewy!
Mercury Studio teams up with Uncompany, The Carrack, Durham Art Guild, Bull City Forward, and Helius to host Boss Thursday on the last Thursday of the month. It's not your typical networking event. We bring you a local entrepreneur to share their story, best practices, and answer questions. In April we had a great conversation with Will Pettis from Will and Pop's food truck!
