“Durham Under Development,” a juried art exhibit presented by the Pleiades Gallery that opened earlier this month, will hold two final events focused on community discussion of the exhibit this Saturday, Feb. 27th, 5-7pm and next Saturday, March 5th, 1-3pm.

In its call for submissions, the gallery encouraged artists to capture what they "see, hear, sense, and feel about Development in Durham," requesting “[an] artistic reaction to what is happening in the community and...visions of what might happen…”

The exhibit features selected works by fifteen artists, including nine gallery artists-in-residence.

Events earlier this month included a talk with Gerry Link and Jeff Bell of 21c, a photo slideshow of Durham by Aaron Mandel set to the music of Treee City, and most recently, the Third Friday Reception with the exhibit’s featured artists.

“Durham Under Development” will be held through March 6th with the sponsorship of several local businesses, including Eno Ventures LLC, NetFriends, Vaguely Reminiscent, The 21c Hotel, The Durham Hotel, and the Durham Food Co-op.

The exhibit's final two events are free admission and open to the public; both will be hosted at the Pleiades Gallery, located at 109 East Chapel Hill Street, Durham, NC 27701.
