LoHi Durham Night Out - Locally Grown Food and Music

Visit Eventbrite here to purchase tickets.

Come join us for a "pop up" night out in Durham at the Mercury Studio "back room" brought to you by LoHi Durham.  A LoHi Durham night out combines the best locally grown food and music in to one event. Chef Geoff Seelen, who recently returned to North Carolina from New York's renowned Blue Hill Restaurant, will be serving a combination of passed small bites and larger family style main dishes prepared with a hyper local mindset and sustainable ingredients. Geoff is partnering with the great folks from Piedmont Biofarm, who he works with on a monthly "pop up" dinner series in Pittsboro as well, for the vegetables that will be used for the meal.  His philosophy around food is that there is an inherent cuisine in every region waiting to be discovered based on the availability of ingredients, so this casual and interactive meal will be a great dining experience for the most discerning "locavore" and anyone who just appreciates truly great food!

Also featured during the evening will be the music of Stranger in the Valley of the Kings, a Durham based quintet that spins infectiously dark yarns.  They describe themselves as "Kind of like a chemistry set of musical notes where we shake it up, distill it down, and find ourselves pleasantly surprised by the resulting explosion." Composed of ex-members of Malt Swagger, D-Town Brass, What Peggy Wants/Teasing the Korean, polvo, and many more, this is a "dyed in the wool" Durham outfit.  Check out this video of them during their well received debut performance at The Pinhook in December.

FAQs
Alcohol - The event is BYOB.  Feel free to bring your libation of choice (as long as you are of age of course).  If you need to purchase a little something for the evening, you can always go across the street and purchase a fine growler from Full Steam Brewery.  We will also have ice and cups for anyone wanting to make their own concoctions.
Special Diets - Omnivores, vegans, vegetarians, and gluten-frees are all welcome.  Just let us know about any dietary needs you may have.
Attire - This is a casual affair in every regard, but if you want to break out your Saturday's best then don't let us stop you!  This will be an open room affair without chairs or tables, so make sure you have your "standing" shoes!
