This 3-week course will introduce you to the principles and practice of the Alexander Technique. You will learn how to observe yourself in movement and how to change your manner of holding yourself that will allow for more ease, comfort and style–in anything you do. Each 3-week course will include looking at everyday movements and activities–walking, standing, using a keyboard, using your voice–and any special activity students may wish to explore
This class will be limited to 6 participants.
Suzanne Faulkner has developed activities, compiled images and ideas to present the Alexander Technique in a small group format. In this class we will....
- Work with the whole body coordination to find your balance and center
- Focus on your breathing, ease, coordination and directions
- Build awareness of your limbs in relation to head, neck and back
- Integrate awareness to standing, walking, sitting and other activities
Each student receives individual hands-on direct instruction during class.
Under what circumstances should a person NOT enroll in a group class?
If you are interested in group work, but you aren't sure if it's for you, schedule an initial private lesson with Suzanne Faulkner so she can evaluate how you respond to the work and make an informed decision if a group class will be beneficial. Group work is not recommended if you are in a lot of pain.
